This blog was created for the Holman/Stevens clan to keep track of eachother. By posting pictures and all the other comings and goings of our individual families we can keep in touch even though we are all far away.

Funny Things

So I thought I better write down some of the funny things that have been happening at our house lately. What better place to put it than here where everyone can enjoy the humor of Ethan and Emily!

Emily's newest thing is that she is NOT a Princess! I always call her princess, but she informed me the other day that she is not a Princess, she is a Barbie. Am I in trouble or what?

I bought some Space Bags the other day to organize all the clothes that are too small for the kids. (They are the ones that you suck the air out of with your vacuum.) They came with these small ones that really weren't that useful so I gave one to Ethan. He carries it around and puts all kinds of things in it. Last night he wouldn't go to bed (imagine that right?), he was too busy filling his space bag. I went upstairs and very sternly told him it was time to go to bed. He said just a minute and closed up his space bag. He then asked me where he should put it. I said just put it away and go to bed (again very seriously). He then stuck it between the door and his wall and said "I will put here because the commercial says that space bags fit into small places!" Try being serious after that.

Yesterday Ethan got sent to his room because he was crying uncontrollably about who knows what. Like usual Emily followed him up but this time she just stood at the door screaming "Ethan (or Efan) stop crying!" She stood there and repeated it about 50 times before giving up, realizing it wasn't helping.

Today Emily was crying and I was trying to figure out why. She kept sticking her finger out and saying this one, this one. I thought maybe she hurt it so I tried to kiss it. She just got more frustrated and started crying harder. She finally moved a chair over to the counter (throwing a fit the whole time) and found the nail polish. The finger that she was sticking out no longer had nail polish on it. She was upset that it wasn't pink like all the others. All that fuss over nail polish? Once again, am I in trouble or what?

The final fun story is Emily's new fun game in the car. She will scream "mommy, mommy" when I say what she will say "I am talking to daddy". Then she precedes "daddy, daddy" he asks what and she says "I am talking to Ethan. Of course then she precedes' "Ethan, Ethan" he asks what and she says "I am talking to mommy". Around and around we go with this game until we get tired of it and then she throws a fit because we stopped playing. Oh to be 2 and so darn cute!

I will try to be better about sharing. They are constantly saying and doing silly things. I know there are many that are forgotten, if only I had written them down.

Strike One!

So this afternoon Emily announced that she no longer wanted to wear diapers and she wanted to wear her princess panties so we thought we would give it a try. She was really excited to sit on the potty and was sitting on it every 2 minutes. Well, needless to say the time we waited more than 2 minutes she went all over the floor. I was slightly frustrated but decided we would try again. A pair of clean pj's and clean pair of undies and off she went. Not much longer she announced that she was stinky and needed her diaper changed! Of course after that I thought maybe we aren't ready and we put a diaper back on. Maybe I gave up to easily and maybe I will try again soon. But cleaning up pee and poop is something I am not willing to do right now!

Emily's First Haircut

Today I took Emily in for her first haircut. I was a little worried about how she would do, but she was perfect! She just sat so still and quietly. Although we didn't cut much off her hair still looked adorable when she was done. Here are a few fun pictures!

Here she is ready to get started! (Notice silly big brother in the backround!)

Getting started. She held her head down for so long. One time she did try to look up and the stylist cut her own hand. Oops!
She loved checking herself out in the mirror. I couldn't get her to smile for the camera, but she sure liked smiling at herself.
Just a little glitter spray and they were all finished. The glitter spray looked really cute!
I thought that the back looked so pretty I just had to take a picture!

Thanks for looking. I am sure it is not nearly as exciting to all of you as it is to me. Have a great day!

Nothing New

So I have known for the last few days that it is time for a new post now that our elf things don't work anymore. The problem is what to blog? Things around here have been pretty normal. Emily has started with major fits. She throws herself on the ground and rolls around screaming. It has been frustrating but I have learned if I just ignore it she stops. Ethan has been playing Superman lately since he got a new Superman outfit and pajamas for Bubba Bear (his build-a-bear from a few years ago). They put on there matching outfits and run around saving the day! It is so fun to watch him as he grows and plays. He is still loving preschool and Emily is still missing him during the day. So as you can see, nothing excited. I'm just realizing that my two little ones are growing so fast. They are not so little anymore.
