This blog was created for the Holman/Stevens clan to keep track of eachother. By posting pictures and all the other comings and goings of our individual families we can keep in touch even though we are all far away.

Ethan's Pics and Em's Chicken Nuggets!

So today I took Emily over to a friends house and took Ethan to get his pictures taken for his 4th birthday! Here are a few of the cute pics we had taken.

They all turned out really cute! It was hard to make a decision. I got several different poses that I will be sending out soon! Doesn't he look so old?

At lunch time today I decided to make tater tots and chicken nuggets. The tater tots take longer than the nuggets so I put the tater tots in the oven and the frozen nuggets on a paper plate to put in the oven in a few minutes. As I was going through Ethan's pictures to decided which ones to post, Emily came in crying about her nuggets. I told her it would just a minute and went to put them in the oven with the tater tots. When I got to the kitchen they were missing! I found them on the table where Emily sits with several bites taken out of each of them! I guess maybe frozen chicken nuggets taste good! At least they are precooked! She is probably no longer hungry!

The Children's Museum!

Yesterday we made our way to the Children's Museum with a group of my friends. So 4 moms braved a day out with 7 kids! We were slightly outnumbered, but still had a great time! Here are the pictures to prove it!

This the beautiful Thomas the Tank Engine that I painted on Ethan's face at the face painting station.

Watch out! Only 12 more years until Ethan's on the roads! He's practicing already!

Emily got to milk her first cow. Does it count when the cow is plastic and water comes out instead of milk?

The next stop was the grocery store. They got a basket and a grocery list of things to find. It was really cute!

After finding everything on his list, it was time for Ethan to check out!

They also got to do a little bit of painting. It's the first time I have let Emily try her hand at real paint! She had a great time!

I guess that is all for the pictures. Blogger has decided that it doesn't want to let me post any more. I had a really cute one of Ethan painting that I really wanted to put up, but oh well. After 7 tries I give up. As you can see the kids had a great time. I'm sure it is a place will visit again. Next time we will make sure to takd Daddy!

Our Little Soccer Star!

I know this picture isn't the greatest because of the weird light on Ethan's face, but you still get the idea! He is really excited to start soccer in a few weeks. Today we made our way to the sports store and picked out a new blue soccer ball, new blue and white shin guards, new blue soccer socks, new blue shorts, and settled on new black soccer cleats (thanks Grammy for the shoes!), since they didn't have any that were blue. If you haven't figured it out yet, Ethan's favorite color is blue! I wanted to get all the stuff so that he could get used to wearing it and also kick the ball around a little before practice. I think I may regret that now because he has asked me twice in the 30 minutes we have been home if he can go to soccer practice today. It could be a long two weeks. I will keep you all posted on how it goes and make sure to post some action shots of him playing. I am sure it will be slightly chaotic, but fun none the less! So all you soccer fans watch out for Ethan! He is the up and coming soccer star!!

3 Things About Ethan and Emily

This is a little thing that one of my friends sent to me. It just some fun questions that help to get to know someone. She sent it to me for Emily and said to fill it out for her and then someone else sent it to me to fill out for Ethan so I thought I would post it here. It will give you a chance to see a little more of their personalities! Enjoy!
P.S. If you read my personal blog or the Stevens Family Blog, you have probably already read them, but just in case, here you go!

Emily's was answered by me of course, but written as if it were her!

3 things that scare me:
*Thunder and lightning
*The wheat grinder (just ask my friend Russell, I don't like it at all)
*Ethan chasing me while screaming at the top of his lungs

3 people that make me laugh:
* Ethan
* Daddy
* Ethan's friends

3 things I love:
*My binkies
*My daddy more than my mommy (but don't tell her)
*My other binkies

3 things I hate:
*The word no!
*When the bow comes out of my hair
*When daddy leaves without me.

3 things I don't understand:
*Why mom won't just give me my binky when I ask for it. If she would I would stop crying.
*Why Ethan can cut with the scissors but every time I touch them I get in trouble.
*Why daddy can't take me with him every time he leaves.

3 things on my floor
* A baby, I decided I don't like want her in my bed anymore.
*A box of wipes. Mommy always leaves them there and I get to take them out one by one! It is lots of fun!
*A dress that mom left on the chair. Doesn't she know the chair is for sitting on? So of course I just threw it on the floor for her.

3 things I'm doing right now:
*Enjoying my binky!!!
*Sleeping peacefully
*Having sweet dreams

3 ways to describe my personality:
*Happy

3 things you should never listen to:
*Mommy saying no binky until bed time!
*The toilet flushing. I always plug my ears!

3 things I want to do before I die (in other words three things my mom wishes for me):
*Have a strong testimony in the gospel
*Marry in the temple
*Provide mom and dad with lots of grandkids.

3 things I love to eat:
*I can't pick just three! I will eat anything anyone shares with me! If I hear someone in the kitchen I come running! But if I had to pick two:
*Grapes
*Crackers of any kind

3 things I'd like to learn:
*How to use the scissors
*How to play on the computer
*How to jump from the 3rd step up like Ethan. It really hurts when you don't make it, but I keep trying. I'll make it one of these days!

3 shows I watch (or listen to as I run around playing or getting into things):
*Curious Buddies
*Dora
*Elmo

I sat Ethan on my lap and typed his answers in word for word. Some of are funny, some are strange, but they are all straight from the mouth of Ethan

All Girl!

If there was ever a doubt in my mind that Emily was a girly girly she erased it today. She has always been slightly concerned with her hair and hair bows. If her bow ever falls out she comes running and crying to let me know she needs it back in. Right after she gets dressed she starts patting her head and saying bow! Well today I realized I have a true hair monster on my hands. We were coming out of Wal-Mart this morning and it was sprinkling a little bit. She started saying "Rain, Rain!" I said "Yep it's raining." She automatically puts her hand on her head and says "Oh no, my hair!" Can you believe a not even 2 year old was worried about the rain ruining her hair? What in the world am I going to do with her when she is a teenager. I better start preparing myself now!

Do Dreams Really Come True?

I had a great dream the other night that I thought I would share with all (especially mom and dad) and ask you the question, Do dreams really come true? In my dream my parents were planning a trip to Denver for the weekend (not that odd considering they were actually in Denver at the time) so they said I could call their cell phones if I needed them or otherwise they would talk to me early in the week. I went on with my day as usual and later that night there was a knock at the door. Guess who it was? Mom and Dad!! They had surprised me and were going to stay with us for the week! So tell me, do dreams really come true?

Where Are You?

So I'll ask again, where are you? I am feeling pretty lonely on this little family blog. I know a few people have had a few little problems getting going, but what is the excuse for the rest of you (Ty and Heidi!!!)? If you need help or lost the link let me know. I can resend it or walk you through any troubles. Once you get going it really is easy. So let me know and I hope to not be so lonely here on Holman Happenings!

Just as a side note, if you can't post pictures you could at least write an occasional note to let us all know what is happening. Pictures are great, but not mandatory! We love you all and hope to see a post soon!
